Vladimir Yevgenyevich Bestschastnych ( Russian : Владимир Евгеньевич Бесчастных ; born April 1, 1974 in Moscow , USSR ) is a former Russian football player and current coach .

Club career

Wladimir Bestschastnych played in Germany for Werder Bremen . He moved from Spartak Moscow to the Weser in 1994 and was initially a regular there. In his last season in Bremen, however, he was only used three times.

In 1996 Bestschastnych moved to Racing Santander in Spain . He later played for Spartak Moscow, Fenerbahçe Istanbul , Kuban Krasnodar , Dynamo Moscow and most recently for FK Orjol in the second Russian division. From December 2005 Bestschastnych was with FK Chimki , also a Russian second division club, under contract, in 2008 with the Kazakh first division club FK Astana .

International career

Bestschastnych was appointed to the Russian national team in 1992. He has scored 26 goals in 71 appearances for Russia. This makes him the record scorer for the Russian team, if you don't count the goals for the USSR team . ( Oleg Blochin scored 42 goals for the USSR ). Bestschastnych also scored a goal against Belgium at the 2002 World Cup . He also took part in the 1994 World Cup and the 1996 European Championship .
