Franz-Josef "Jupp" Wolfframm (born October 22, 1934 in Krefeld , † July 3, 2015 in Rheinberg ) was a German football player. The offensive player completed a total of 132 league games at Fortuna Düsseldorf in the then first-class football Oberliga West from 1957 to 1963, in which he scored 56 goals. Three times, namely in 1957 , 1958 and 1962 , the goal-scoring attacker took part in the DFB Cup finals with Fortuna .

Life

The "Jupp" Wolfframm, who came from the Lower Rhine regional league from Preussen Krefeld , made his debut on August 18, 1957 in a 2-2 away draw against Wuppertaler SV, in the Oberliga West. With Heinz Janssen , Bernhard Steffen , Hans Neuschäfer and Ewald Nienhaus , he formed the Fortuna attack on the half-left in the World Cup system at that time . At the end of the round, his new club under coach Hermann Lindemann finished 8th and Wolfframm had scored five goals in 26 league appearances. Since the DFB-Pokal was played within the framework of the season and Düsseldorf qualified for the semi-finals, the newcomer to the 1957/58 round was able to take part in the semi-finals and the DFB-Cup final on November 24 and December 29, 1957. Düsseldorf won the semi-finals in Hanover 1-0 against Hamburger SV, while Fortuna lost 1-0 to Bayern Munich in the final. In both games Wolfframm ran as a half right.

In his second season in Düsseldorf, 1958/59 , he shot his way to second place in the Oberliga West with 25 hits, behind Gerhard Clement from surprise champion Westfalia Herne, who won the top scorer's crown with 28 hits. With Fortuna, he finished third, tied with runner-up 1. FC Köln, while Düsseldorf was by far the best offensive in the West with 89 goals scored. The attack with Steffen, Wolfframm, Janssen, Jupp Derwall and Dieter Wöske was very dangerous and was one of the best that Oberliga West had to offer. On September 10, 1958, Düsseldorf also prevailed in a test match for the national team with 2: 1 against a DFB selection by national coach Sepp Herberger ; “Jupp” Wolfframm scored both goals against a defensive with Hans Tilkowski (goalkeeper), Georg Stollenwerk , Erich Juskowiak , Jürgen Werner , Herbert Erhardt and Hermann Nuber . In the cup, Wolfframm and colleagues first prevailed in the west on June 7, 1958 in the semi-finals against FC Schalke 04, who had just won 3-0 against Hamburger SV on May 18, 6-0 (3 goals by Wolfframm ) and also won the final 4: 1 (1 goal Wolfframm) in Wuppertal on June 27, 1958 against 1. FC Köln and thus advanced to the semi-finals of the DFB Cup. Then the West Cup winner prevailed 2-1 against Tasmania 1900 Berlin and was again in the 1957 DFB Cup final as in 1957. But that was 3: 4 on November 16 in the Kassel Auestadion in front of 28,000 spectators lost after extra time against VfB Stuttgart. Wolfframm distinguished himself as a two-time goalscorer.

After this very successful round in 1959/60 he scored 15 times in the opponent's goal in 28 league appearances, but to everyone's surprise Fortuna Düsseldorf was relegated to the 2nd division west with 26:34 points. Under coach Fritz Pliska , he scored 14 goals in the second division in 27 games in 1960/61 and was thus involved, alongside Hermann Straschitz (21 goals) and Heinz Janssen (16 goals), in the immediate league return as runner-up in the second division west. In the last two rounds of the old first-class Oberliga West, 1961/62 and 1962/63, he could no longer take part in the race for the top places with the Fortuna. With a 9th and 13th place Düsseldorf ended the era of the Oberliga West and thus missed the nomination for the newly created Bundesliga from the 1963/64 season. In 1962 he achieved a 3-2 victory in the semi-finals against Schalke 04 in the Cup, Wolfframm was the winning goal scorer in the 72nd minute, the third time in the DFB Cup final. On August 29, 1962, he scored the 1-0 lead for Fortuna in the 58th minute, but 1. FC Nürnberg prevailed in Hanover 2-1 after extra time. Wolfframm went to the second-class Regionalliga West with coach Kuno Klötzer and scored five goals in 11 appearances. Suffered from a broken leg on October 10, 1963, this round was overshadowed by a four-month injury break and for professional reasons he switched to league rivals Bayer 04 Leverkusen for the 1964/65 season , where he played until 1966 and scored 10 goals in 51 regional league appearances.

In 170 games he scored 75 goals for Düsseldorf. Of these, he played 132 games in the Oberliga West, in which he scored 56 goals. He also came to 27 games and 14 goals for Fortuna in the 2nd League West and 11 games and 5 goals in the 1963/64 season in the Regionalliga West.

Wolfframm died on July 3, 2015 at the age of 80.
