Hermann Straschitz (born August 17, 1940 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

societies

Straschitz began playing football at Homberger SV in the town of the same name , which was incorporated into Duisburg in 1975 . As a young talent in the half-forward position in the World Cup system , which was predominantly practiced at the time , he drew the attention of the relegated league Fortuna Düsseldorf to himself with his offensive performances in the Niederrhein association in the 1959/60 season . Under coach Fritz Pliska , the newcomer from Homberg scored 21 goals in 21 league games for Fortuna in the 2nd Oberliga West in 1960/61 . As runner-up, Fortuna Düsseldorf managed to return to the Oberliga West immediately . For ninth place in the league in 1962 , Straschitz contributed seven goals in 21 league games alongside the young goal-scorer Peter Meyer . With the unsatisfactory 13th place under coach Jupp Derwall in the last year of the then first-class league, 1962/63 , the Fortunes were not taken into account for the newly founded Bundesliga with the start of the 1963/64 season . Straschitz had played 47 league games for Düsseldorf and scored 13 goals in two seasons in Oberliga West. He also played under the new coach Kuno Klötzer in 1963/64 in the Regionalliga West . Straschitz played 36 regional league games and contributed eight goals, Peter Meyer even scored 30 goals, but the Fortunes only finished third and thus narrowly failed to make it into the Bundesliga promotion round.

He moved to Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund for the 1964/65 season , for whom he made his debut on August 29, 1964 (2nd matchday) in a 2-1 win in the away game against Borussia Neunkirchen . Together with Franz Brungs , Aki Schmidt , Friedhelm Konietzka and Lothar Emmerich he formed the attack of the black and yellow , who were trained by Hermann Eppenhoff . He achieved his greatest sporting success with the Dortmunders. With the team he won the national club cup in 1965; the following year, when he won the Cup Winners' Cup , however, he did not play a game. In his first season for Borussia Dortmund he was used regularly, in 20 Bundesliga matches he was in the starting line-up and with four goals contributed to reaching third place in the championship. In his second season, 1965/66 , he was only used four times under coach Willi Multhaup . The season was accompanied by many disagreements between the club and the player, which led to the separation at the end of the season. The high point of the dispute was Straschitz's dismissal after he had left the training camp without permission. The Dortmunders withdrew the notice after ten days.

For the 1966/67 season , Straschitz joined the league competitor Hannover 96 . Under coach Horst Buhtz , the midfielder played 28 league games alongside Christian Breuer and Hans Siemensmeyer , scored five goals and finished ninth with the "Reds". Despite the prominent offensive additions Jupp Heynckes and Josip Skoblar , the desired place in the top group could not be achieved in his second year in Hanover. After two years with the Hanoverians with 50 other Bundesliga appearances and twelve goals, he moved to the Regionalliga West for Wuppertaler SV for the 1968/69 season . There he met again with coach Buhtz, who built up the team from the Stadion am Zoo as a new team with perspective. In its second and third seasons in Wuppertal, 1969/70 and 1970/71 , the WSV took third place. With the home balance of 33: 1 points, one point behind VfL Bochum and Fortuna Düsseldorf brought the Wuppertal people to the promotion round. He played his last regional league game for Wuppertal on March 28, 1971 in a goalless draw in the away game against Bonner SC . Together with Bernhard Hermes , Herbert Stöckl and Heinz-Dieter Lömm, he formed the midfield with strong running and playing skills behind the two top players Gustav Jung and striker Günter Pröpper . In the summer of 1971, he ended his higher-class career and returned to his former club, which played in the third-class association league Niederrhein , which has now been called VfB Homberg since 1969 through the merger with SpVgg Hochheide .

National team

His talent had led him on March 15, 1961 at the international match in London against England in the U-23 national team . The attack by the DFB talents consisted of Gustav Flachenecker , Jürgen Schütz , Heinz Strehl , Straschitz (2nd League West) and Willibert Kremer . In the 1: 4 defeat, the German contract players had no chance against the English professionals.
