Gustav "Gustl" Flachenecker (born October 28, 1940 in Nuremberg ) is a former German football player .
Player career
In his youth Flachenecker played for the suburb club TB Johannis 88 . In 1952 he moved to the youth team at 1. FC Nürnberg. In the years 1959 to 1963 he was used 94 times in the league team of 1. FC Nuremberg and scored 47 goals. With the club he was champion in 1961 and cup winner in 1962.
In the European Cup in February 1962, he scored two goals in the quarter-final first leg against defending champions Benfica Lisbon to win 3-1 and prepared Heinz Strehl's goal to make it 2-1. In the second leg, however, the club had to admit defeat 6-0.
After the introduction of the Bundesliga in 1963, he was with the club until 1966 , during which time he played 27 Bundesliga games, scoring 12 goals. In the 1966/67 season he was no longer used in the Bundesliga. In 1967 his Bundesliga time came to an end due to injuries. However, he was also excluded from the training by Max Merkel, who was not satisfied with the work done by “Gustl”.
After he was no longer used for the club in the 1966/67 season, he moved to the Regionalliga Süd for Spielvereinigung Fürth in 1967 , where he only made two appearances, which is why he ended his professional career in September 1967 and as a player-coach at ASV Neumarkt went. He came to Neumarkt to 64 missions and 20 goals in the Landesliga Mitte and rose in 1971 with the ASV in the Bayernliga. There he came to 46 missions for Neumarkt, in which he scored four goals.

Flachenecker was also used in the DFB youth team. In the Bundesliga, he finished with 1. FC Nürnberg in the table 2 × 6th place (1965 and 1966).
Coaching career
After finishing his job in Neumarkt in 1973, he worked as a player-coach for a few years; so in the 1973/74 season at 1. SC Feucht , from July 1974 to October 1974 at TSV 1859 Roth, where he came again to 5 missions (no goal) in the Landesliga Mitte, and from November 1974 to 1980 at TSV Südwest Nuremberg. He also coached TSV Langenzenn, BSC Erlangen , FSV Erlangen-Bruck and Sportfreunde Großgründlach. He also ran a kiosk.
