Carsten Jancker (born August 28, 1974 in Grevesmühlen ) is a former German soccer player and today's coach .
Career as a player

Jancker played for TSG Wismar from the age of seven to twelve before he moved to the youth department of FC Hansa Rostock in 1986 as part of the cooperation with the CJD Jugenddorf-Christophorusschule Rostock and was active there for five years. In the last year of his youth he played for 1. FC Köln and received a licensed player contract for the Bundesliga in 1992 . In this he made his debut on September 25, 1993 (9th matchday) at the home game against VfB Leipzig . He came on in the 64th minute for Andrzej Kobylański and scored his first goal with the final 3-1. However, he had already made his competitive debut for the club on September 11, 1993 in the third round of the DFB Cup , in which the Cologne team were defeated by the Bayern amateurs on penalties . In the following season Jancker was only used four times and moved to Austria for Bundesliga club SK Rapid Wien , for whom he scored seven goals in 27 games. With Rapid he also reached the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup ; he scored six goals in the competition. The final was lost 0-1 against Paris Saint-Germain .
His return to Germany in 1996 took him to Bayern Munich, for whom he played 143 times in the Bundesliga until 2002 , scored 48 goals, achieved his greatest successes and the peak of his career. In 2002 he moved to Italy for the first division club Udinese Calcio . On March 22, 2004, the striker terminated his contract with Udine , which ran until June 30, 2007, and left the club at the end of the season.
From the 2004/05 season he played for the Bundesliga club 1. FC Kaiserslautern , where he was retired in the 2005/06 season . He was the top scorer of the DFB Cup in 2005 after scoring six goals in the first round in a 15-0 game against FC Schönberg 95 . His club was eliminated in the next round on penalties against FC Schalke 04 .
Jancker found his new employer in China in the Chinese champions of 2003, Shanghai Shenhua , for which he - equipped with a one-year contract - played eleven times in the Chinese Super League until October 25, 2006 . Due to an injury and unable to find his way back to his old form, he resigned after half a year and moved again to Austria. From January 1, 2007 he was eligible to play for SV Mattersburg , for whom he scored 21 times in three seasons in 76 games. Coming in from the team in December 2008 as team captain chosen Jancker learned on 24 June 2009 by his coach Franz Lederer , that in the 2009/10 season not planning with him and put him close to a contract. National team
Jancker came to international matches early on , first for the GDR junior team (U14), and then for other age-increasing teams. With the U-16 national team , he took part in the European Championship held in Switzerland from May 8 to 18, 1991 , and finished the tournament with her in second place after the final was lost 2-0 to the Spanish team.
Jancker took part in the Junior World Cup in Australia in 1993 and came in his two games (on March 6, 1-0 win against Portugal and March 9, 2-2 draw against Ghana) to one goal each. He played his last game in the national jersey on October 16, 2002, in a 2-1 victory over the Faroe Islands . In his 33 international matches, Jancker scored 10 goals, including a "double" on June 7, 2000 in an 8-2 win over Liechtenstein .
Career as a coach
On February 18, 2010, Jancker became the individual coach for the strikers of SC Neusiedl am See and at the same time began to get an A-license coaching license, although his contract with SV Mattersburg, which ran until June 2010, had not yet been terminated. In addition to looking after the strikers individually, he was also the coach of the second U-14 team there. From the 2010/11 season he initially returned to SK Rapid Vienna as a junior supervisor for the U-15 team and was promoted to assistant coach of the first team in April 2013. After Mike Büskens was released, Jancker was also relieved of his duties in November 2016. On June 1, 2017, Jancker was introduced as the new coach at SV Horn , this was his first position as head coach. With Horn he was promoted to the 2nd division in 2018 .
In November 2018, SV Horn parted ways with Jancker, after having occupied the last place in the table after the first half of the season and generally only on two match days a non-relegation rank.
On May 1, 2019, he became the coach of the regional division FC Marchfeld Donauauen .
