Thomas Remark (born October 5, 1959 in Völklingen ) is a former German soccer player who has played a total of 121 league games with 31 goals in the Bundesliga for the clubs Hertha BSC and SV Waldhof Mannheim .

career

The son of the former Oberliga and Bundesliga player of 1. FC Saarbrücken , Horst Remark , grew up playing football in the youth departments of FV 09 Schwalbach and SV 08 Ludweiler, before his outstanding qualities on the offensive at SV Röchling Völklingen in the 1977/78 season led to a nomination for the youth national team of the DFB. When UEFA youth tournament in May 1978, the striker came in the two group matches against Scotland (0: 1) and Portugal (0: 1) next to players like Uwe Greiner (goalkeeper), Bernd Schuster , Thomas Allofs , Thomas Kroth and Ralf Dusend used . For the 1978/79 season, the young player was committed to the Bundesliga club Hertha BSC. The other newcomers Henrik Agerbeck , Rainer Blechschmidt and Jürgen Milewski also joined the team of coach Kuno Klötzer . The quick and technically good winger made his debut in the Bundesliga on November 18, 1978 in a 1-1 home draw against VfL Bochum . He came on as a substitute for Karl-Heinz Granitza in the 65th minute . In total, Remark made eleven appearances in his first Bundesliga season. In the DFB Cup 1979 he distinguished himself as a goal scorer against Wormatia Worms and Bayer Uerdingen . In the final on June 23, 1979 in Hanover against Fortuna Düsseldorf , he was in the 0-1 defeat after extra time in the 91st minute in the team around Norbert Nigbur , Michael Sziedat , Uwe Kliemann , Hans Weiner , Wolfgang Sidka , Dieter Nüssing , Erich Beer and Jürgen Milewski came on as substitutes. When he returned to the Bundesliga, the attacker scored nine goals in 34 league games, but could not prevent relegation.

This was followed by alternating positions at SV Waldhof Mannheim and the Stuttgarter Kickers until 1985/86 in the Bundesliga and 2nd Bundesliga. The goal-scoring attacker had a special sense of achievement on October 9, 1985 when he took the 2-1 lead of VfB in the second half with three goals in a 4-2 in the 5: 3 home win of SV Waldhof against VfB Stuttgart -Could transform leadership. In that round he scored 14 goals in 27 games. Remark began his coaching career in 1991 as a player-coach for FC Balzers. With Tasmania Neukölln , Remark rose to the top division in the 1990s. Remark worked there between 1994 and 1997. in the 2006/07 season he was a coach at Röchling Völklingen. The former striker also had a successful time with FV 07 Diefflen in the Saarland League , where he was head coach from 2007 to 2011. In January 2012, the Rhineland division SG Bad Breisig signed Thomas Remark as a new coach. He finished his successful work (fourth and sixth place) in Bad Breisig on September 1, 2013 after the 5th matchday of the 13/14 season .

From March 2014 he was the head coach of the women's second division club SC 13 Bad Neuenahr . Since the 2015/16 season, Remark has been training the Grafschafter SV district league A team, where his activity ended on June 30, 2016. Since October 19, 2017, he has been the coach of the first team at VfL Oberbieber in the A-Class Westerwald / Wied.
