Rainer Blechschmidt (born December 20, 1953 ) is a former German soccer player .
Career
Rainer Blechschmidt played for Kickers Offenbach and Hertha BSC during his professional career . The Kickers he received in the 1972/73 season in the Bundesliga already 18 inserts, scoring one goal. In the five later years he was also part of the Offenbach team and also received regular appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga South . His best placement with the Kickers was in the 1972/73 season as seventh in the table to secure relegation. In 1979 he was in the final of the DFB Cup with Berlin and lost the game against Fortuna Düsseldorf . Wolfgang Seel scored the only goal in the 116th minute and brought the Düsseldorfer the title win.
