Foundation and first years

On July 26, 1907, an advertisement mentioned that the Dieffler football clubs "Viktoria" and "Britannia" were holding their first competition. But the names of the clubs changed and shortly afterwards there were now three football clubs with the names Zeppelin, Edelweiss and FC Diefflen. The eleven players of FC Diefflen represented the colors red and white, which are still used today at FV 07. FC Diefflen was officially founded on New Year's Eve 1909/10.

In 1919 all teams merged to form the 07 Diefflen football club. The FV 07 had registered in 1920/21 for the first participation in the association round in the A-class Mosel-Gau-Süd. They got a good middle place in the group.

1921 to 1925 - The difficult time without a sports field

In 1921 the club was able to lease its own sports field . During the season, the Dieffler team took second place in the A-class behind the master club Roden. In the next round of the game, the team had to move back to different sports fields. In the A-Class Saar Group, the club nevertheless took fourth place out of twelve teams. On Christmas Day 1923 there was an 8: 1 victory over the higher-class, renowned team of the Post Sports Club 05 Saarbrücken, which made the Dieffler team famous in the region. Nevertheless, all efforts on the sports field issue failed and negotiations with the authorities did not lead to any result - with the result that gaming operations had to be suspended for more than two years. The players stopped their football activities or played at neighboring clubs during this time.

1926 to 1942 - The successful pre-war years

An upswing of the club was initiated with the election of the referee Ambros Lauer as club chairman. The South German Football Association was at that time new policies and classifications out and the FV 07 has been placed in the B-class northern Saar. In the spring of 1927, a separate sports field was created at the slag mill, opposite the Jewish cemetery. The place, however, was on the Dillinger district. The 1927/1928 season brought the championship, combined with promotion to the A-class. The association round 1929/1930 again resulted in a championship that resulted in promotion to the district league. In the season 1933/1934 one achieved the championship title in the first district league Westsaar. After the end of the season and a championship celebration, the football department of TV Diefflen joined the FV 07, so that they aimed for a place in the district league for the coming season. The Saar district league was then the highest division in Saarland.

From 1937 onwards, a sports field was laid out on the Bawelsberg to train young people in the National Socialist sense. In the war years from 1939 to 1945, a game operation that was interrupted by the evacuation of Diefflen within the red zone could only be maintained with youth teams. In 1943 the game had to be stopped completely.

1946 to 1954 - Difficult post-war years

It was not until March 1946 that the French military government approved the establishment of the new Omni-Club “Sport- und Spielvereinigung Rot-Weiß Diefflen” - with eight branches (football, gymnastics, handball, table tennis, chess, cycling, athletics and swimming). In the first round of the association, which began at the end of February 1946, the red and whites were divided into the Saar district class and took second place behind VfB Dillingen . In the 1951/1952 season, the club's first team was only placed in the middle of the table, but was able to convince in the cup round and managed the cup championship of the Saarlouis / Merzig district leagues. This success was associated with promotion to the District League West and an honor from the football association. By resolution of the General Assembly in 1952, the traditional name “FV 07 Diefflen” was re-adopted after the major sports club was dissolved.

1954 to 1971 - time in high amateur class

In the 1955/1956 season, the club was promoted to the top amateur class in Saarland. In 1961 there was a relegation from the 1st amateur league . It was not until 1970 that the promotion to the top amateur class in Saarland could be achieved. These successes were achieved although the FV 07 was only able to play a few actual home games at the beginning of the season due to the stadium renovation on the Babelsberg and then had to switch to the Weiß-Kreuz Stadium in Dillingen or the Nalbacher sports field for the remaining months.

1971 to 2002 - up and down despite great efforts

The 1970/71 season was to remain the last round of games in the 1st Amateur League (Verbandsliga Saar) for the FV 07 for several years. In 1979 the first women's team was set up. Between 1979 and 1990 they played in the district league A, then for four years in the district league and from 1994 again for ten years in the district league. Four eventful years followed. In 1994 the descent could no longer be prevented. In 2002, the playing area of the Babelsberg Arena was covered with artificial turf, which is currently used by 13 FV 07 teams.
