The FC Hertha Wiesbach (officially: Football Club Hertha Wiesbach eV ) is a sports club from the Wiesbach district of the Eppelborn municipality in Saarland . The first soccer team rose in 2013 to the fifth-class Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz / Saar .

history

The association was founded in August 1908 as SSK Hertha Mangelhausen . The model for the naming was the Berlin club BFC Hertha 92 , which became Hertha BSC in 1923 . In the mid-1920s, SSK Hertha Mangelhausen became FC Hertha Wiesbach . For decades, Hertha only played at the district level before they were promoted to the district league in 1992. After a runner-up in 1999 behind FC Kutzhof , the Wiesbachers became champions a year later and were promoted to the state league. In 2004, when he was promoted to the Saar Association League, he made it into the highest amateur league in Saarland for the first time. In the association league, which has been called the Saarland League since 2008 , the team always placed in the top third. In 2013, the club was prematurely champions and rose to the league. At the same time, the Wiesbachers reached the final of the Saarland Cup , which was lost 4-0 to 1. FC Saarbrücken in front of 3500 spectators .
