Richard Canaval

Richard Canaval (born March 25, 1855 in Klagenfurt ; † July 31, 1939 there ) was an Austrian mining and geologist .

Life

Canaval's father was the naturalist Leodegar Canaval (1820–1898), his mother was Ottilie von Rosthorn (1827–1917). From 1874 to 1886 Richard Canaval studied at the University and the Technical University in Graz and at the Montanic University in Leoben . He was an official of the mining authority from 1886 to 1918. Since 1907 he held the post of miner captain with the title Hofrat in Klagenfurt.

Canaval published various mining publications, as well as mineralogical and paleontological ones .
