The FV Dudenhofen (officially: Fußballverein 1920 eV ) is a sports club from Dudenhofen in the Rhineland-Palatinate Rhein-Palatinate district . The first men's soccer team has been playing in the Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz / Saar since 2019 . The first women's soccer team played for one year in the Regionalliga Südwest and will compete in the Association League Southwest in 2017/18 .

history

The association was founded in 1920. After the temporary dissolution after the end of the Second World War , the association was re-established on February 16, 1946, which then merged with TV Dudenhofen . In 1949 this merger was dissolved again. In addition to football, the club also offers table tennis .

Men's soccer

The greatest success before the end of the war was the Mittelpfalzgau championship in 1931. After the end of the war, in 1966 they were promoted to the 2nd amateur league of the Vorderpfalz . Four years later, the Dudenhofen champions became champions and made it into the Southwest Amateur League . After a sixth place in the 1970/71 promotion season , the team had to relegate two years later. In 1980 it went back to the district league. This was followed by direct resurgence, before the Dudenhofen family succeeded in 1987 in what is now called the Association League Southwest, the highest amateur league. This time the team lasted two years before the Dudenhofen team had to relegate to the newly created Landesliga Ost in 1989 .

Two consecutive relegations brought the club to the county league in 1993, before two consecutive promotions brought the Dudenhofen family back to the regional league in 1997. After the direct relegation, it went up again in 2001 in the state league. Six years later, the club returned to the association league and in 2009 reached the final of the Southwest Cup , which was lost 3-0 against FK Pirmasens . Two years later, the Dudenhofen runner-up in the Association League Southwest behind Arminia Ludwigshafen .

In 2015, the club was able to reach the final of the Southwest Cup again. In front of over 1,800 spectators, they beat the TuS Mechtersheim league team in the local derby . On May 13, 2015, FV Dudenhofen met the regional league team FK Pirmasens for the second time after 2009 in the final. In a game that was balanced until the end, FV Dudenhofen had to accept the 1-0 winning goal from FK Pirmasens in minute 120 and thus surrendered for the second time to the regional league team in an association cup final.

In the 2016/17 season, the club was able to celebrate the championship in the Association League Southwest and the associated promotion to the Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz / Saar .

Women's soccer

In 2009, the footballers of FV Dudenhofen were promoted to the third-class Regionalliga Südwest. As penultimate in 2010 , the team rose again promptly and also set a league record with 105 goals conceded. After another season in the Association League Southwest, the team was disbanded. In 2015, FV Dudenhofen re-established the women's team.
