Soccer

history

Already in the year after the merger to form FVgg. Hassia first appeared in the first-class district league, from which they were relegated after the 1929/30 season . In 1940 they unsuccessfully participated in the promotion round to the Gauliga Südwest . In the short 1946 season and until the club was dissolved again in the 1946/47 season, which was canceled after seven match days, Hassia Bingen played in the newly founded Oberliga Saarpfalz. In 1952/53, the Binger were nominated after the first day of play as last year's third in the 2nd division for VfR Frankenthal , who had been excluded from the Oberliga , were not prepared for the surprising promotion at the green table and were relegated again without a win with three draws and 27 defeats . From 1956 to 1959 Hassia Bingen only played third rate, after the establishment of the Bundesliga and the associated league reorganization from 1968 to 1974 even only fourth rate.

The heyday of the Hassia was in the 1970s and 1980s. In 1977, the Binger only missed the promotion round to the 2nd Bundesliga in the playoff for the championship of the amateur league southwest. After the founding of the Amateur Oberliga Südwest, the Bingers took part continuously in the highest amateur class until 1991, in 1984 they reached fourth place.

Three years after relegation Hassia came back in 1994 in the new Oberliga Südwest. In 2001 the Binger were relegated to the Association League, and again after two years. In 2006 he was relegated to the association league. In the 2006/07 season, the Association League Southwest was finished with the 8th and in the following 2007/08 season with the 11th place in the table.

In the 2008/09 season, the kickers from the Rhein-Nahe-Eck succeeded in returning to the Oberliga Südwest . With a 3-1 win against Ludwigshafener SC on the penultimate matchday, the Association League championship was perfect. In the following season 2009/10 Hassia rose, however, as the bottom of the league table straight away again in the association league. Holger Wolf replaced Hubert Neu as coach after the season ; Wolf was followed by Ekrem Soy and then Nelson Rodrigues.

For the 2012/13 season, the club managed to sign professional footballer Aílton for the football team, who scored 13 goals. Nevertheless, the club rose as the bottom of the table in the Association League Southwest in the State League Southwest. In 2015 he returned to the association league and in the 2017/18 season, as a runner-up in the association league, he even made it back to the top division via the promotion round of second place. Hassia ended the 2018/19 season in eleventh place.
