Peter Eich (born  June 18, 1963 in Bad Kreuznach ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper . He played more than 200 games in the 2nd Bundesliga for SV Waldhof Mannheim , FC 08 Homburg and 1. FC Saarbrücken .

Career

After the stations of TuS Rheinböllen, TuS Dichtelbach and Hassia Bingen , Eich moved to Waldhof Mannheim in 1990 , for which he made his first appearances in the second division . In 1992 he moved to league competitor FC 08 Homburg , with whom he was relegated to the regional league in 1995 . In 1998 he went from Homburg to 1. FC Saarbrücken as part of a cooperation agreement between the two clubs , where he ended his career at the end of the 2006/07 season with the relegation of 1. FC Saarbrücken to the league .

Due to an injury to goalkeeper Marc Ziegler , Peter Eich returned to the club's goal at the age of 42. On November 20, 2005, at the age of 42 years, 5 months and 2 days, he became the third oldest professional to ever play in German football . On April 21, 2007, at the age of 43, he played the last game of his active career in the Regionalliga Süd when 1. FC Saarbrücken played 0: 3 against KSV Hessen Kassel .

Eich played 233 games in the 2nd Bundesliga, including 23 for Waldhof Mannheim, 102 for FC Homburg and 108 for 1. FC Saarbrücken.
