The 2005/06 season of the Oberliga Südwest was the 28th season of the football Oberliga Südwest since its reintroduction in 1978 and the twelfth as the fourth-highest division in Germany. The championship and promotion to the regional league secured the FK Pirmasens with three points ahead of the FC 08 Homburg .

The only athletic relegated was Hassia Bingen . In addition, the second team from Eintracht Trier was relegated , as the first Trier team was relegated from the regional league to the upper league in the same season. The SV Weingarten pulled his team before the start of the season because of the opening of insolvency proceedings from playing back, which was attended only 17 teams in the league play.

The climbers were TuS Hohenecken from the Association League Southwest , FSV Salmrohr from the Rhineland League and FC Kutzhof from the Association League Saar . Eintracht Trier was relegated from the Regionalliga Süd .

The top scorer Andreas Haas from FC 08 Homburg with 26 goals.
