history

The SC Hauenstein was founded on March 24, 1919 in the inn "Zum Schwan" in Hauenstein. After the re-establishment of the club after the Second World War in 1950, he played in the 2nd amateur league West Palatinate. In 1960 promotion to the 1st Southwest Amateur League could be achieved.

In the 1970s, SC Hauenstein was relegated to the B-class. It was not until the mid-1980s that the club was able to build on its old successes. Via the A-class, district league and association league, it was possible to move up to the Oberliga Südwest for the first time in 1990 , which, however, had to be left after just one season. In 1993 he was promoted back to the Oberliga Südwest, in which one could qualify for the newly created Regionalliga West / Südwest after just one season . Since relegation from the Regionalliga West / Südwest in 1997, SC Hauenstein played in the Oberliga Südwest, which is now called Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz / Saar, until the 2016/2017 season. As the winner of the Südwestpokal 2016, she participated in the DFB Cup for the first time . In the first round, the club had to admit defeat Bayer 04 Leverkusen 1: 2.

After the 2016/17 season, which the club finished in thirteenth place in the table, SC Hauenstein withdrew from the league for financial reasons and now entered the sixth-class Association League Southwest. From this division, the SC rose in 2019 as bottom of the table in the national league.
