Sascha Hildmann (born April 7, 1972 in Kaiserslautern ) is a former German soccer player and current coach . Since January 1, 2020 he has been the head coach of Preußen Münster .

Career

As a player

Hildmann played in his youth at SV Enkenbach. From 1985 he was under contract with 1. FC Kaiserslautern . In the season 1994/95 he was in the professional squad, but did not play a Bundesliga game. A year later he moved to 1. FC Saarbrücken for a half season and again to 1. FC Kaiserslautern in the winter of 1995/96. Until 2000 he played for the amateur team of FCK. Then he went to Alemannia Aachen , where he played 36 times in the 2nd Bundesliga and scored one goal in two years . His other stations were FK Pirmasens and FC 08 Homburg, each in the Oberliga Südwest . From 2006 Hildmann was a player-coach at the regional league club SV Rodenbach and became champion of the regional league west in 2010/2011.

As a trainer

For the 2011/12 season he was coach of the regional division SC 07 Idar-Oberstein . This was followed by another coaching station at SC Hauenstein , before he took over the U17 of SV Elversberg in the B-Jugend-Bundesliga in 2015 . From 2016 Hildmann trained the U16s at 1. FSV Mainz 05 as head coach in the B-Jugend Regionalliga Süd-Südwest.

From July 2017 to October 2018 he was employed as head coach at the third division club SG Sonnenhof Großaspach . After leading the team to 14th place in the table in its first season, the start of the 2018/19 season failed when only one win out of the first ten games of the season and the club was relegated. After losing 3-2 in the association cup against the association league club TSV Essingen, Hildmann was released from his duties at the beginning of October 2018.

On December 6, 2018, Sascha Hildmann succeeded the dismissed Michael Frontzeck as head coach of third division competitor 1. FC Kaiserslautern . He took over the team after the 17th matchday with 21 points (5 wins, 6 draws, 6 defeats; goal difference 21:28) in 12th place in the table. At the end of the season the team stood after 38 matchdays with 51 points (13 wins, 12 draws, 13 defeats; goal difference 49:51) in 9th place in the table.

After the 8th matchday of the 2019/20 season , FCK announced the separation from Hildmann. The team had won nine points to date and lost 6-1 in Meppen .

On December 27, 2019, Preußen Münster announced that Hildmann would be the new head coach on January 1, 2020. He took over the team on the penultimate place in the table after the 20th matchday with 16 points (3 wins, 7 draws, 10 defeats; goal difference 29:40).
