Career

Maximilian Schulze Niehues, whose father Heiner Schulze Niehues comes from the well-known Westphalian riding stable Schulze Niehues in the Warendorf district of Freckenhorst , began playing football at TuS Freckenhorst 07 and came to Prussia Münster via the Warendorfer SU as a 15-year-old . There he played up to the U-19s and ended his youth with promotion to the A-Jugend-Bundesliga. However, he had been on the bench as reserve goalkeeper for the first team since October 2006 for Görrissen, who had an injured cruciate ligament. For the new season he moved permanently to the first team in the Oberliga Westfalen . Although he was used a few times towards the end of the 2007/08 season as a replacement for the injured goalkeeper number one and became champions with the team, he still moved to Fortuna Düsseldorf afterwards .

In the state capital, Schulze Niehues played in the second team and rose with the team after a year in the Regionalliga West . In the 2009/10 season he sat in 17 games as number two on the bench of the second division team. In his third fortune year he played in 32 games in the U-23 as a regular goalkeeper and was only twice in the squad of the second division team. He didn't get to work with the professionals in the three years.

So in 2011 he moved back to Preußen Münster, which had meanwhile been promoted to the 3rd division . On March 10, 2012, he made his professional debut against SV Darmstadt 98 . By the end of the season, six more missions were added, but in the following seasons he remained the clear number 2 behind goalkeeper Daniel Masuch without professional appearances and played for the Prussian reserve in the Westphalia League .
