The SV Rot-Weiß Hasborn-Dautweiler is a football club from the Hasborn-Dautweiler district in the Saarland municipality of Tholey . The club has been playing in the Saarland League since the 2019/20 season .
history
The association was founded in 1920. For a long time the club played in the lower divisions. It was not until 1964 that they made it to the first amateur league, at that time the third highest division.
In 1975/76 the club qualified for the second main round of the DFB Cup after a 3-1 victory over VfL Neuwied , but lost to Borussia Mönchengladbach 3-0. 5,000 spectators saw the duel between the then reigning German champions and the amateur league team. Around 1,000 of them accompanied their team from Saarland to the Bökelberg .
In 1981 Rot-Weiß Hasborn rose for the first time in the Oberliga Südwest . Since then, the club has been commuting between the Saar Association League (since the 2009/10 Saarland League season ) and the Oberliga Südwest.
In 1991 and 2007 SV Hasborn won the Saarland Cup and qualified again for the DFB Cup.
In the 1991/92 competition they prevailed in the first main round with 3: 2 against the Saxon representative SpVgg Zschopau . This was followed by a 1-1 draw against second division club VfL Osnabrück , which they defeated 5: 4 on penalties before they lost to Freiburg FC in round three . In the 2007/08 cup season , SV Hasborn lost 8-0 in the first main round of the DFB Cup in front of 4,500 spectators against Bundesliga club Hansa Rostock .
In the 2010/11 season, SV Hasborn was relegated from the Oberliga Südwest and played in the Saarland League from the 2011/12 to 2017/18 seasons . There, SV Hasborn was relegated to the Nordost Association League with 37 points and, as champions, made it back to the top division in Saarland.
