Hans Siemensmeyer (born September 23, 1940 in Oberhausen ) is a former football player . He played for Rot-Weiß Oberhausen in the Oberliga West and Regionalliga West and for Hannover 96 in the Bundesliga.

In 1967, the midfielder appeared three times for the German national soccer team and scored two goals. He managed a brace on his debut in a 5-1 win over France . There were two more appearances in Hamburg against Yugoslavia (3-1 in the European Championship qualification) and in Bucharest against Romania (0-1), each without a goal.

In 1948, Siemensmeyer began playing soccer at SV Osterfeld 06 at the age of eight . Originally he was a half-forward. The trained electrician came to Rot-Weiß Oberhausen from SV Osterfeld 06 in 1960, for which he played in the Oberliga West from 1960 to 1963 and in the Regionalliga West (then 2nd division) from 1963 to 1965. In 1965 he moved to the Bundesliga for Hannover 96, where he played until they were relegated from the Bundesliga in 1974. He ended his professional career at the end of the 1973/74 season. On January 1, 1974, Siemensmeyer took up a part-time position as an employee at the Hanover municipal utility .

He is considered the best player Hannover 96 ever had. Between 1965 and 1974 he played 278 Bundesliga soccer games and scored 72 goals, making him the record scorer of Lower Saxony in the top German division to this day. In addition, he came to 14 appearances and 7 goals in the trade fair cup and 22 games and 5 goals in the DFB Cup . He ended his playing career at Hannover 96. His greatest successes were ninth (1967 and 1971) and ten (1968) in the Bundesliga.

Siemensmeyer was in charge of TSV Havelse from 1975 and led it to the Regionalliga Nord within ten years. At the beginning he was a sporadic player himself. In 1984 he returned to Hanover and became a successful youth coach. From September 19, 1988 to March 21, 1989 he was the coach of Hannover 96.

In honor of his services as a player and goalscorer at Hanover, Siemensmeyer represented Hanover as the official ambassador of the organizing committee for the 2006 World Cup . The ex-national player was thus one of the 12 honorary sporting greats who represented their city at promotional events for the World Cup.
