The Premjer League 2006 was the 15th season of the Russian top division in football. It began on March 17, 2006 with the game Torpedo Moscow against Tom Tomsk and ended on November 26, 2006. From May 17 to July 5, the league paused so that the players could participate in the 2006 World Cup .
At the end of the season, CSKA Moscow and Spartak Moscow had the same number of points, CSKA became Russian champions due to the more numerous victories.
