Alejandro Damián "El Chori" Domínguez (born June 10, 1981 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine soccer player who is currently without a club.

Career

Domínguez played for CA Lanús until 1998 . He then moved to Quilmes AC and then three years later in 2001 to River Plate . In 2004 Rubin Kazan signed the Argentine for around 1.5 million euros. After three years with Rubin Kazan, Domínguez moved to Zenit Saint Petersburg. Zenit paid the equivalent of seven million euros, which broke the transfer transfer record within the Premjer league. He impresses with his excellent technique and good dribbling skills. In the semi-finals of the 2007/2008 UEFA Cup, Domínguez moved into the team for the suspended regular Andrei Arshavin . In the 4-0 home win against Bayern Munich , the winger showed a convincing performance and made two assists. In the final, Arshavin was back on the pitch. After Arshavin's departure, Domínguez was supposed to take his place, but could not convince in the following two months. After he had some differences with the then Zenit coach Dick Advocaat , he returned to his former club Rubin Kazan on March 13, 2009, the deadline for the transfer time in Russia.

In December 2009, he signed a contract for three and a half years at Valencia . In the 2011/12 season Domínguez was loaned to River Plate. With the traditional Argentinian club he was promoted from Primera B Nacional to the first Argentinian league, the Primera División . In the 2012/13 season, the Argentine moved to the Spanish first division club Rayo Vallecano . In the summer of 2013 Domínguez signed a two-year contract with the Greek record champions Olympiacos Piraeus .
