The 1st Division 2007 was the 16th season of the second highest Russian league in football. It started on March 28, 2007 and ended on November 5, 2007.

The 22 teams played against each other twice, divided into a first half and a second half. So each team played 42 games. The two best clubs were promoted to the Premjer League in 2008 , while the last five were relegated to the third-class 2nd division .

Before the season

Dinamo Makhachkala and Volgar-Gazprom Astrakhan were refused licenses. Both played in 2007 with the amateurs .

FK Lada Tolyatti , 17th of the 1st division from the previous season had to relegate to the 2nd division because a license was not granted.

For the three vacant places, FK SKA Rostow , Metallurg-Kuzbass Novokuznetsk and Mordowija Saransk were approved as the best runner-up in the 2nd division.

    1 Disbanded after the season due to financial problems.
    2 Spartak-MSK Ryazan withdrew on July 23, 2007 for financial reasons. All remaining 21 games were rated 3-0 for the opponents. The association was then dissolved.
