Name development

The club was founded in 1960 as Zementnik (cement workers) Belgorod. This name was kept until 1963. From 1964 the club called itself Spartak, around 1970 the name Salyut under which they played until 1991. This name was also used in the years 1993 to 1995. In the meantime (1991-1992) it was called Energomash. In the years 1996-1999 one was active as Salyut-YUKOS in professional football; from 2000 to 2009 the association was called Belgorod Salyut-Energija. From January 23, 2010 the club will be called Salyut Belgorod again.

Soviet Union

Zementnik played in class B in 1960 and 1961. In 1964, the team returned to this league as Spartak Belgorod. In 1968 Spartak finished third in the Class B finals and rose to Class A, where the team was incorporated into Group 2. After the reorganization of the league system in 1971, Salyut played in the Soviet Second League until 1989. In 1990 and 1991 the club played in the second Soviet league B.

Russia

In 1992, the club was divided into the newly founded 1st Division as Energomasch Belgorod and promptly relegated. Although the team in zone 2 of the 2nd division was first in the table in 1993, they were not allowed to rise. 1995 there was the next descent for Salyut and it followed the crash into the third division . But in the following year the team rose again to the 2nd division. As Salyut- YUKOS , the team rose after a short time (1997-1999) but again in the amateur league KFK . But the return to professional football succeeded in 2000. In the years 2001 to 2005 Salyut-Energija was always among the top teams in the 2nd division and the team was never worse than fifth.

In 2005 the team rose as champions of the 2nd division (center) in the 1st division , from which the relegation after the 2010 season followed. In the season 2011/12 the immediate promotion was achieved. After the club went bankrupt at the end of January 2014, it was excluded from the ongoing competition on February 14, 2014.
