The 1st Division 2009 was the 18th season of the second highest Russian league in football. It started on March 28, 2009 and ended on November 4, 2009.

Master Anzhi Makhachkala and runner-up Sibir Novosibirsk were able to prevail among the 20 teams and were promoted to the 2010 Premier League .

mode

The 1st Division 2009 was played in a double round tournament mode with an away game and a home game in 38 match days. The two best placed rose to the Premjer League 2010 , the five worst teams from the 2nd division .

The ranking was first determined by the points achieved, in the event of a tie the number of wins, and in the case of teams with equal wins and points, the direct comparison. In a direct comparison, first the points of the victorious and scored teams among each other, then the victories, then the goal difference, the goals scored and finally the away goals were taken into account. In the event of a tie, the total goal ratio, the goals scored and the away goals would have decided. If there was another tie, the game would have been drawn.

In fact, there were four tied teams each time, with three pairs each team had one more win. Only between the ninth and tenth Baltika Kaliningrad and FK Krasnodar was a direct comparison consulted; Baltika had won 1-0 once, the second game went 0-0, so that Baltika was ninth.

Attendees

After the 2008 season , the field of participants in the league was reduced from 22 to 20 clubs after seven instead of the usual five clubs were relegated. Qualified for 2009 were:

The two premjer league relegated in 2008

The eleven 1st Divisionists placed between 3rd and 12th and 14th in 2008

Clubs 1st Division 2009

The champions of the five squadrons of the 2nd division

as well as a successor

At the turn of the year 2008/09, the 1st division 15. Moscow Sports Academy Club, however, to participate in the 2009 season and the 1st division-13th. SKA Rostov was refused the license by the PFL . Since all 2nd division runners-up and the three other third-placed champions did not participate due to the financial crisis for financial reasons, the two 2nd division third-placed FK Nizhny Novgorod (Ural-Powolschje) and FK Krasnodar (South) moved up.
