The FK Volga Nizhny Novgorod ( Russian Футбольный Клуб Волга Нижний Новгород , Futbolny Klub Volga Nizhny Novgorod ) was a Russian football club from Nizhny Novgorod , which was founded in 1963 and played in the Premier League from 2011 to 2014 . It was dissolved in 2016.

history

The association was dissolved in 1984 and first re-established in 1998 as Elektronika Nizhny Novgorod . Since 2004 it has been called Volga Nizhny Novgorod again . In the 2000 season, third place in the “Powolsche” group was achieved in the 4th Russian league. Thus, the club rose to the 2nd division in the Ural-Powolschje group. In 2008 the club won the zone championship and rose to the 1st division . In 2009, fourth place was achieved in the 1st division. In the following season, the team fought for the runner-up, which entitled to participate in the game of the Premjer League . In the Premjer League, the team could not hold up and rose as the table penultimate of the 2013/14 season in the second-class 1st division. Due to over-indebtedness, the club was dissolved by the board after the 2015/16 season.
