Petar Jelić (born October 18, 1986 in Modriča ) is a Bosnian-Herzegovinian football player .

In the 2005/06 season Jelić played for the Bosnian first division club FK Modriča Maxima and was top scorer with 19 goals.

On May 26, 2006, at the age of 20, he made his debut for the Bosnia-Herzegovina national team in a friendly against South Korea. He had previously been a regular player and captain in his country's U21 team.

In 2006 he was signed by Bundesliga club 1. FC Nürnberg until 2009, but was loaned to FC Carl Zeiss Jena for the 2006/07 season, but was unable to assert himself there and returned to 1. FC Nürnberg after the first half of the season. Without league use for the "club" he moved in August 2007 to the Serbian first division club OFK Belgrade .

His father Milan Jelić was president of the entity Republika Srpska of Bosnia-Herzegovina from 2006 to 2007 .
