The Fudbalski Klub Modriča Maxima is a BiH football club from Modriča , Republika Srpska . In the 2014/15 season, the club plays in the country's third-highest division, the Druga Liga RS .

General

The team plays in the Dr. Milan Jelić (formerly Maxima Stadium), which seats 4,000 people. The main sponsor is the Modriča-based mineral oil company Maxima.

history

The club was founded in 1922. In 2003 the team rose to the highest Bosnian-Herzegovinian league for the first time.

The club's greatest successes so far were winning the 2004 Bosnian-Herzegovinian Cup and the 2008 championship. In the 2004/05 season, FK Modriča reached the UEFA Cup qualification. First they defeated FC Santa Coloma from Andorra , but were eliminated in the next round against Levski Sofia from Bulgaria .

In the 2007/08 season Modriča was the first time in the club's history of Bosnian-Herzegovinian champions. The championship was decided only in the last game, after a long time tied with NK Čelik Zenica .

Two years later in the summer of 2010 they relegated to the second-rate Prva Liga after a weak season . There, in the following years, they only occupied places in the middle of the field and after the 2013/14 season they were even relegated to third class.
