Paul Johann Rahl (born October 30, 1877 in Dachau , † June 11, 1926 in Ergoldsbach ) was a German engineer and member of the Reichstag .

Life

After attending the district's secondary school, he began studying civil engineering at the industrial school in Munich. He took up employment with the Royal Bavarian State Railroad in 1896. In Landshut he worked as a senior railway engineer in the building inspection of the Bavarian State Railways .

As a one-year volunteer , he did his military service in the Bavarian Army from 1899 to 1900 and was promoted to lieutenant in the reserve in 1905 . In the First World War he served until November 1918. He is considered the organizer of the German cable car troops. Under his command, the war cable cars were built on the Tyrolean front from 1915 to 1916 . Rahl was last major in the reserve. For his war activities, he was awarded two classes of the Iron Cross , the Military Merit Order , the Austrian Military Merit Cross III. Class as well as the Bulgarian Military Order for Bravery IV. Class awarded.

From 1919 to 1923 he worked as a leader in the national youth movement. He was also active in the interests of the civil service. Between May and December 1924 he was a member of the Reichstag for the constituency of Lower Bavaria for the National Socialist Freedom Party , an alliance made up of the NSDAP, which was banned at the time, and the German National Freedom Party . It is not known for certain whether Rahl entered the Reichstag as a representative of the NSDAP.
