Career

Sychev played in older age teams as a youngster before the 16-year-old moved to western Russia and signed with third division club Spartak Tambov . Through his father he got Alexei Sokolow as an agent and Sytschow got trial training at FC Metz and FC Nantes , but negotiations were carried out with several Russian clubs. All negotiations were unsuccessful. Sokolov went to Spartak Moscow four times . In 2000 he took part in the U-16 European Championship with the Russian selection . Here the Russian top clubs became aware of the talent very quickly, although he did not score a goal in the tournament. At the beginning of 2002 he switched to Spartak Moscow, where he had a surprisingly good debut with 8 goals in only 12 games. In his second league game for Spartak Moscow, he had scored two goals. Oleg Romanzew , who was both coach of Spartak and coach of Russia 's senior team at the time, then nominated him for the senior national team and then used him nine days after the league game on March 27, 2002, in the friendly against Latvia . Of course, he also took part in the 2002 World Cup. In the preliminary round, he scored once in 3 games and at 18 years and 222 days was the youngest Russian player to ever play at a World Cup. Sychev was a ray of hope in a disappointing Russian team and was able to liven up the slow game of the Russian team. Even if the Russian team was eliminated after the group stage, he went back to Spartak Moscow as the winner. Because both Agent Sokolov and Sychev's father could not come to an agreement with the board of directors, a break occurred. Sychov appeared for the last time for Spartak Moscow on August 16, 2002 because he went on strike at his father's orders. That was followed by a four-month ban by the club and the association. A short time later he practiced at Dynamo Kiev . He should sign there too. Shortly afterwards he went abroad. Sychov trained at Olympique Marseille and also signed there. After a long back and forth, Kiev switched on FIFA . This brought about an agreement and Sychev was allowed to play for the southern French. Initially, Sychev was successful in the Mediterranean and became a crowd favorite with the fans before the stakes became less and there was a dispute with Alain Perrin . At the beginning of 2004, Sychev returned home and signed with Lokomotiv Moscow . His first season with Lok was his best to date, as the team's outstanding player he was voted Footballer of the Year 2004 in Russia at the end of the year, and he was also named by the Russian Football Association that year, as well as in 2005 and 2007 of the top 33 players in the Premier League. His 47th and last international match played the offensive on August 11, 2010 against Bulgaria .
