Marcin Kowalczyk (born April 9, 1985 in Wieruszów , Poland ) is a Polish football player .

Career

society

The defender began his career at the Polish club Polonia Kępno , from where he moved to UKS SMS Łódź . His first professional station was from 2002 to 2004 the then second division club Łódzki KS . Here he made his debut in the second division in 2002 at the age of only 17 . He came to GKS Bełchatów in 2006 via UKS SMS Łódź and Stal Głowno . Here he also made his debut in the Ekstraklasa (Polish 1st League). Here the defensive specialist was able to convince, so that in 2008 he moved to Dynamo Moscow in Russia . Here he was able to fight for a regular place straight away. After being loaned to Metalurh Donetsk from March to June 2011 , he moved back to his home country for free in August and joined Zagłębie Lubin . Marcin Kowalczyk played seven league games for Lubin in the first half of the 2011/2012 season. For the second half of the season he was only used in the junior league , the Młoda Ekstraklasa , due to poor performance . At the beginning of the 2012/2013 season he joined the Polish champions Śląsk Wrocław . Where he signed a 1 year contract with an option for two more years. Further positions followed in Russia at Volga Nizhny Novgorod and FK Tosno before he returned to his homeland. In 2016 he joined Ruch Chorzów and since 2018 he has been under contract with GKS Tychy .

National team

On August 20, 2008 Kowalczyk made his debut in a friendly against Ukraine (0: 1) in the Polish national team . In total, he played eight times for the selection of his country until 2013.
