The FK Chita ( Russian ФК Чита ) is a Russian football club from the southeast Siberian city of Chita .
history
The club was founded in 1974 as Lokomotive Tschita . The club kept this name until 2005.
Lokomotive played in the third highest Soviet league in 1974 and 1977. In 1978 the team was relegated. In 1984 the club returned to this league and remained in third class until the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.
In 1992 the team was divided into the newly founded 1st Division and in 2005 had to be relegated. In the 2008 season the championship was won in the 2nd division "East". Thus, FK Tschita returned to the 1st division. There the club only lasted one season and had to go back to the 2nd division "East" after the 2009 season as the 4th relegated team. 2017 after winning the relay championship east in the 2nd division, the renewed promotion to the 1st division could be celebrated.
