Hans Peisser moved to Nuremberg at a young age and acquired Nuremberg citizenship there on November 17, 1526 (Nuremberg Council Leaves). After Heinz Stafski he was probably a pupil of Veit Stoss , from whom he shows himself stylistically influenced.

A medal by Ludwig Neufarers from 1536 shows the artist, who was around thirty. Hans Peisser gave up his citizenship in Nuremberg in 1559 and worked for various royal courts (Pomerania, Bohemia, Kremsmünster Abbey).

Works

His main works include the cast model for the goose man's fountain in Nuremberg, around 1550, which is in the Fembohaus city museum there, as well as the wooden model for the putti fountain in the Nuremberg town hall courtyard , 1557, which is in the Germanic National Museum; Both fountains were cast in bronze by Pankraz Labenwolf .
