Pankraz raven wolf

Pankraz Labenwolf (* 1492 in Nuremberg ; † September 20, 1563 there ) was a German ore caster .

Labenwolf was a student and son of Peter Vischer and worked with him at the Renaissance lattice for the Fugger Funeral in Augsburg . After the Fuggers did not remove it, this grille was later found in the Great Hall of the City Hall in Nuremberg and then went missing. There is a copy in the town hall today. Labenwolf received civil rights in 1519 , opened his own workshop in 1523 and finally received permission to build his own foundry in 1537 .

Labenwolf designed his works mostly from wooden models from sculptors.

Pankraz Labenwolf died on September 20, 1563 in Nuremberg. His son Georg (†  1585 ) continued the workshop.

Goose man fountain in Nuremberg

• Probably 1550 the goose man on the fountain named after the figure in the courtyard of the new town hall : a farmer with two geese spouting water under his arms. The fountain formerly stood on the Nuremberg Gänsemarkt (today: fruit market ), behind the Frauenkirche .
• Rathausbrunnen ("Puttenbrunnen") in the courtyard of the Nuremberg town hall, 1549/1557 , basin, above it a boy (putto) on a column holding a flag.
• Tomb for Count Gottfried Werner von Zimmer in the parish church of St. Martin in Meßkirch, 1551
• Fountain figure in the town hall of Hilpoltstein , probably workshop work around 1560.
• Possibly the Neptune figure in Hammer near Laufamholz.
• Various works in the old Nuremberg cemeteries ( Johannis and Rochus ).
