Premjer League 2010

The 2011/12 Premjer League was the 20th season of the Russian top division in football. The season was a transitional season, in which there was a change from hosting in one calendar year to the late to early summer mode customary in UEFA and lasted more than a year (March 12, 2011– May 13, 2012). The usual double championship round in 2011 was followed by a phase with championship and relegation group in spring 2012. Since the 2012/13 season , the Russian championship has been held in the usual summer rhythm of UEFA.

Zenit Saint Petersburg was able to defend the 2010 title.

mode

After 30 game days, the league was divided into two groups with the eight best and bad teams. Now the teams of the respective groups played either for the championship (group of the eight best teams) or against relegation (group of the eight bad teams).

The placement was primarily based on the number of points achieved; in the event of a tie, the number of wins, the direct comparison of the teams with the same points and wins (based on points, wins, goal difference, goals scored and away goals), goal difference, goals scored and the Away goals. If there is still a tie, a decision game decides on questions that are decisive for relegation, championship and European Cup qualification, otherwise the placement in the previous year.

Before the season

Kuban Krasnodar and Volga Nizhny Novgorod replace the two relegated Alania Wladikawkas and FK Sibir Novosibirsk . Zenit Saint Petersburg is starting the season as the defending champion . Saturn Ramenskoye voluntarily withdrew from the Premjer League . As a replacement for Ramenskoye, the fifth of the 1st football division 2010 FK Krasnodar was included in the Premjer League.
