Emmanuel Chinenye Emenike (born May 10, 1987 in Otuocha , Anambra ) is a Nigerian football player .
Career
Emenike began his career at Delta Force FC in the Nigerian state of Delta . In February 2008 he moved to South Africa to Black Aces , but these got no approval from the Nigerian Football Association , and they sold him in May 2008 to FC Cape Town. At the end of the 2008/09 season Emenike was the top scorer in the National First Division (NFD) for his club FC Cape Town. After various trial training sessions in Turkey at MKE Ankaragücü , Gençlerbirliği Ankara and Hacettepespor , he switched to Kardemir Karabükspor for the 2009/10 season and signed a one-year contract. Here he helped the team to rise to the Turkish Süper Lig with 16 goals and 13 assists . In June 2010 Emenike was chosen as the best foreign player of the Bank Asya 1st Lig and then signed a new three-year contract with the newly promoted Karabükspor. In his first season with Karabükspor in the Süper Lig, Emenike scored 14 goals.
On May 25, 2011, Emenike signed a four-year contract with Fenerbahçe Istanbul . Karabükspor received a transfer fee of around nine million euros for Emenike, making it the most expensive sale in the club's history. Just two months later, on July 28, 2011, Emenike moved to Spartak Moscow for ten million euros , making him the first player not to play a single official game (including friendlies) for Fenerbahçe. Emenike did not want to continue his career in Turkey because his name was wrongly involved in the manipulation scandal. He was acquitted after four days in custody.
On August 14, 2011 Emenike made his debut for Spartak Moscow in the 76th minute against Anzhi Makhachkala .
On August 7, 2013, Emenike came back to Fenerbahçe Istanbul for 13 million euros and signed a four-year deal. Thus, the Nigerian striker transferred to Fenerbahçe Istanbul for the second time in his career. There he is part of the permanent staff under coach Ismail Kartal.
On July 9, 2015, he was loaned for a year and signed a contract until June 30, 2016 with a subsequent purchase option at the al Ain Club in the United Arab Emirates . In the transfer window in winter 2015/16, this loan was terminated prematurely and Emenike returned to Fenerbahçe for the time being.
Without having been in the squad for the next two games, he was loaned to the English club West Ham United for the rest of the season with a subsequent purchase option in early February 2016 . West Ham United was playing in the Premier League at the time .
This purchase option was not exercised, so Emenike returned to Fenerbahçe Istanbul for the 2016/17 season and initially played there. In December 2016 he was initially suspended from the club; later he was not in the squad, so that he was not back on the pitch until April 30, 2017.
For the 2017/18 season, Emenike moved to the Greek club Olympiacos Piraeus with a two-year contract . After initially being used five times in the league, twice in the Greek Cup and twice in the Champion League, he was no longer in the Piraeus squad.
On February 1, 2018, he was loaned for the rest of the season to the Spanish club UD Las Palmas , which at that time played in the Primera División , the highest Spanish league. Due to an injury, he did not actually play there. Back at Piraeus, his contract was terminated in mid-July 2018.
It wasn't until a year later that Emenike initially took part in training at the Belgian club KVC Westerlo , which was playing in the 2nd division at the time, and finally signed a contract there on September 18, 2019 for the rest of the season with an extension option for the next season . But after only five missions, the contract was canceled on November 14, 2019, and Emenike is again without a club.
