The federal program competent. for Democracy - Advisory Networks Against Right-Wing Extremism was launched on September 1, 2007 together with the federal program, Diversity Does Well . It is a central component of the federal government in combating right-wing extremism in Germany . The program provides intervening opportunities to combat right-wing extremism. It is financed by the Federal Ministry for Family, Seniors, Women and Youth and the federal states and ends at the end of 2010.

activities

The program serves to establish nationwide advisory networks on the subject of right-wing extremism and supplements the "preventive-educational" program "Diversity is good".

State coordination offices

To strengthen knowledge about right-wing extremist incidents and to provide know-how to act against right-wing extremist actors, a state coordination office was created in each federal state.

Mobile advisory teams

The core component is a number of mobile advisory teams (MBR) that can offer professional advice after right-wing extremist incidents and bring civil society and state actors together on site. Mobile advisory teams exist in

  • Berlin ("Mobile Advice Against Right-Wing Extremism Berlin" of the Association for Democratic Culture in Berlin e.V. and the Berlin Mobile Advice Team for Democracy Development of the SPI Berlin Foundation),
  • Brandenburg (demos of the mobile consulting team in Brandenburg),
  • Bremen and Bremerhaven (pro active against right),
  • Hamburg (Mobile Advisory Team HH),
  • Hessen (Mobile Consulting Team Hessen eV).
  • Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (the mobile advisory team for democracy, tolerance and civil society engagement of the Evangelical Academy Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the mobile advisory team for democratic culture of the RAA Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania),
  • Lower Saxony (mobile intervention team),
  • Rhineland-Palatinate (advisory node),
  • Saarland,
  • Saxony-Anhalt (Together | Together - Network for Democracy and Open-mindedness eV),
  • Saxony (the mobile advisory team of the Kulturbüro Sachsen eV),
  • Schleswig-Holstein (mobile intervention teams),
  • Thuringia (Mobile advisory team against right-wing extremism in Thuringia of the Moabit eV association).

Victim counseling

There are also victim counseling centers such as ReachOut Berlin and outh eV Rheinland-Pfalz .

financing

The program is currently financed with five million euros annually. The federal program is supported and organized by the Democratic Youth Foundation .

criticism

Paul Ingendaay criticized in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung , the Mobile consulting team against right (MBR Berlin) did a study on how to deal with the "culture war right" democratic conservatism sweeping with the warning " right provided" and racially stigmatized what "zealous "censorious and close to Orwell's Thought Police ". Among other things, the former head of the feature pages of the time Ulrich Greiner was attacked by name because he doubted the usefulness of the politically correct rewriting of children's books. Using state funding to “finance such defamation” is bottomless.
