Monor small area

The small area Monor ( Hungarian Monori kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) in the middle of Pest County in central Hungary . The small area touched the Hungarian capital Budapest in the northwest and was dissolved at the end of 2012 as part of the administrative reform. 11 of the 15 localities (with a total of 64,227 Ew.) Changed at the beginning of 2013 in the following district Monor (Hungarian Monori járás), the remaining 4 localities (with a total of 47,126 Ew.) Moved to the newly created district Vecsés .

At the end of 2012, 111,353 inhabitants lived in the small area on an area of ​​449.55 km². The third most populous small area had a population density of 248 inhabitants / km².

The administrative seat was in the city of Monor (17,677 Ew.), Vecsés (20,164 Ew.) Was the largest city in the small area. 4 other localities also had the town charter : Gyömrő (16.466 inhabitants), Maglód (11.753 inhabitants), Üllő ( 11.585 inhabitants) and Pilis (11.498 inhabitants). Ecser had the status of a large municipality (Hungarian nagyközség ).
