Vecsés ( Hungarian Vecsési járás ) is a district in the center of the central Hungarian Pest county , southeast of the capital Budapest . It borders on the Gödöllő district in the north, the Nagykáta and Monor districts in the east and the Gyál district in the south-west . In the northwest, Budapest forms the county border.

history

The district was created in the course of the Hungarian administrative reform at the beginning of 2013 from parts of the small area Monor (Hungarian Monori kistérség ). The small area gave up 4 of its 15 municipalities, corresponding to a share of 26.6% of the area or 43.3% of the population.

The district of Vecsés has an average municipality size of 12,050 inhabitants on an area of ​​29.94 square kilometers. The population density is slightly below the value of the county (193). The district seat is located in the largest city, Vecsés , in the west of the district. The city borders the 18th district ( XVIII. Kerület ) of Budapest .
