The district of Gödöllő ( Hungarian Gödöllői járás ) is a district within the central Hungarian Pest County , northeast of Budapest . It borders in the northwest on the Dunakeszi district , in the north on the Vác district , in the northeast on the Aszód district and in the south on the Nagykáta and Vecsés districts . In the southwest it borders on the capital Budapest. In the southeast, the municipality of Zsámbok and the municipality of Jászfényszaru ( Jászberény district , Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok county ) form a common border over half a kilometer.
history
The district was created for the Hungarian administrative reform in early 2013 from its predecessor, the small area of the same name (Hungarian Gödöllői kistérség ) as well as with two municipalities of the small area Veresegyház (Hungarian Veresegyházi kistérség ) and a municipality from the small area Dunakeszi .
