Jászberény (Hungarian Jászberényi járás ) is a district in the northwest of the central Hungarian Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County . The Jászapáti district is the only border within the county . Pest county forms the border in the west with Nagykáta and Aszód counties , Heves county with Hatvan , Gyöngyös and Heves counties in the north and northeast .
history
In the course of the Hungarian administrative reform at the beginning of 2013, the district became the successor of the small area of the same name (Hungarian: Jászberényi kistérség ), with 9 of the 18 municipalities moving to the newly created district of Jászapáti .

The population density of the second most populous district is the second highest in the county and is above average. The administrative center is located in the largest city, Jászberény , in the center of the district.
