Jászapáti (Hungarian Jászapáti járás ) is a district in the northwest of the central Hungarian Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County . It borders on the Jászberény District to the west and the Szolnok District to the south . Heves county forms the border to the north and northeast .

history

The district was newly created in early 2013 for the Hungarian administrative reform. The small area Jászberény (Hungarian: Jászberényi kistérség ) located to the west gave half of its 18 communities to the new district. This corresponded to 46.9% of the area and 39.4% of the population of the small area.
