Tiszafüred (Hungarian Tiszafüredi járás ) is a district in the northeast of the central Hungarian Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County . It borders on Kunhegyes County in the southwest and Karcag County in the south . Heves county forms the border in the northwest, Hajdú-Bihar county to the east and Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county to the north in a small stretch (~ 8 km) .

history

As part of the Hungarian administrative reform in early 2013, the district emerged as the successor to the small area of the same name (Hungarian Tiszafüredi kistérség ) with 7 of the 13 municipalities. The other 6 parishes moved to the newly created Kunhegyes district in the south.

The district of Tiszafüred has an average community size of 2,738 inhabitants on an area of ​​59.58 square kilometers. The population density of the poorest district is the third lowest in the county. The administrative center is located in the only town, Tiszafüred , in the north of the district.
