Small area of ​​Vác

The small area Vác (Hungarian Váci kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) in the north of Pest County in central Hungary until the end of 2012 . In the course of the administrative reform at the beginning of 2013, 15 of the 19 localities were transferred to the following district Vác (Hungarian Váci járás ), which was expanded by 3 localities (with a total of 9,369 inhabitants) from the dissolved small area Veresegyház (Hungarian Veresegyházi kistérség ). 4 localities (with a total of 12,302 Ew.) Were assigned to the Szob district (Hungarian Szobi járás ).

At the end of 2012 there were 70,714 inhabitants on an area of ​​431.74 km². The population density was 164 inhabitants / km² below that of the county.

The administrative seat was in the city of Vác (33.475 Ew.). The second town of Nagymaros (4,756) was added to the Szob district in early 2013. 17 municipalities (Hungarian község ) had an average population of 1,911 inhabitants (each on an area of ​​19.85 km²).
