Cegléd small area

The small area Cegléd ( Hungarian Ceglédi kistérség ) was a Hungarian administrative unit ( LAU 1) in the southeast of Pest County in central Hungary until the end of 2012 . As part of the administrative reform, 12 of the 15 villages (with 89,261 inhabitants) came to the successor district of Cegléd (Hungarian Ceglédi járás ), the villages of Kocsér, Nyársapát and the city of Nagykőrös (with a total of 27,824 inhabitants) changed to the newly created Nagykőrös district .

At the end of 2012, 117,085 inhabitants lived in an area of ​​1,235.55 km². The small area had the largest area and the second highest population in the county . The population density was 95, half that of the entire county.

The administrative seat was Cegléd (36.384 Ew.), Three other places had the city rights: Nagykőrös (24.016 Ew.), Abony (14.769 Ew.) And Albertirsa (12.181 Ew.). The 11 rural communities (villages, in Hungarian : Község ) had an average population of 2,703 (on 51.07 km² each).
