Ceglédbercel is a Hungarian municipality in the Cegléd County in the southeast of Pest County , central Hungary .
history
The name of the municipality is derived from the name of the Turkish people Barsil (Bercel), and from Cegléd. They lived here for more than two centuries, until the Tatar invasion in 1241.
The settlement is first mentioned in a document in 1281. The place of cultural life is the Dózsa-György-Kulturhaus, where various groups (such as the choir, the Rozmaring dance group, the national choir, the artisan club ...) operate. The culture house is the place for all important events in the village. The community has a sports field, fishing lake and a local museum. The museum of local history is all about traditions. Another attraction of the village is the Roman Catholic Church, which was newly consecrated in 2000.
Of the 640 people dragged away for labor service in 1945, 159 never returned home. The village inaugurated a memorial in 1991 to commemorate the deceased. Since then, every year on November 4th, the flames have flared up as a memory. The municipal assembly has declared this day to be a holiday in Ceglédbercel.
