Danko Lazović ( Serbian - Cyrillic Данко Лазовић , born May 17, 1983 in Kragujevac , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Serbian football player . Since July 2016 he has been under contract with the Hungarian club Videoton FC .

Career

society

Lazović began his football career at FK Radnički in 1923 Kragujevac , before going through all youth teams at Partizan Belgrade . In 1999, at the age of 17, he joined the professional squad in Belgrade. In his first professional season, the then youngster made eight league appearances. In order to give him match practice, he was loaned to FK Teleoptik the following season. A year later he returned and from then on developed into a regular player. In 2002 and 2003 he won the Serbian championship with the capital city. In 2004/05 he moved to Holland for around seven million euros, where he signed with the Dutch honorary division Feyenoord Rotterdam . There he seldom got beyond the role of the spectator. In the summer of 2005 he was loaned to the German first division club Bayer 04 Leverkusen , where the then U-21 national player saw more opportunities for regular appearances.

The "technically fine player" ( Rudi Völler , sports director at Leverkusen) was supposed to replace França, who had moved to Japan . Lazović's first competitive game for Leverkusen was an excellent one. In the 8-0 win against Rot-Weiß Erfurt II in the DFB Cup , he managed a hat trick within eleven minutes.

But the final breakthrough was denied to him in Leverkusen and so he was awarded to Partizan Belgrade by Feyenoord for the second half of the 2005/06 season. For the 2006/07 season he moved to Vitesse Arnheim for around 1.5 million euros , where he had an excellent season, scoring 19 goals in 32 games and taking sixth place in the top scorer list.

For the 2007/08 season Lazović moved to PSV Eindhoven , where he scored two goals in his first game. At the end of this season he won the Dutch championship with the team . In March 2010 he moved to the Russian first division club Zenit Saint Petersburg . On June 18, 2011, according to the club, he was assaulted by a police officer with a stun gun during the away game in Nizhny Novgorod .

In the winter break of the 2013/14 season he returned to his youth club Partizan Belgrade , and signed a contract there until summer 2015. After his contract expired, he moved to China to Beijing BG in February 2015 , where he also only played for one year before moving back to his home country to NK Olimpija Ljubljana . After five months in which he was not used once, he moved to the Hungarian club Videoton FC on a free transfer .

National team

In 2004 Lazović was appointed to the squad of U21 Serbia and Montenegro for the U21 European Championship in Germany. The team advanced to the final, where they met opponents in the preliminary round, Italy , and had to admit defeat 3-0. Lazović completed four of the possible five games and was able to mark two hits. In 2002 he made his debut in the senior team of Serbia and Montenegro . Until 2006 he ran eleven times for this national team, but could never score a goal. In Serbia's first game after the dissolution of Serbia and Montenegro , Lazović scored the first international goal in the friendly against the Czech selection . By the end of his national team career in 2014, he played 43 games for Serbia, in which he scored eleven goals.
