Birinci Divizionu 2011/12 ↓

The 2011/12 Premyer Liqası , officially named Unibank Premyer Liqası after a sponsorship agreement , was the twentieth season of Azerbaijan's top division in men's football since it was founded in 1992.

The first round of the season began on August 6, 2011 and ended on March 7, 2012 with the 22nd matchday being held. Both the championship games and the relegation games began on March 11th with the 23rd matchday. The last championship games were played on May 11th, the last relegation games on May 12th.

On April 30, the Azerbaijani Football Association announced that there would be no promoters from the Birinci Divizionu . This means that all clubs will remain in Premyer Liqası for the coming season .

First round

In the first round of the season, the twelve clubs played for participation in the games of the championship finals. This required a placement in the first half of the table. The clubs that were in the second half of the table after the 22nd matchday had to compete against each other in the second half of the season in the relegation round.

In addition to the table top Neftçi Baku PFK , the clubs İnter Baku , FK X FKzər Lənkəran , FK Qarabağ Ağdam , FK Baku and FK Qəbələ qualified for the games for the Azerbaijani championship. The table seventh AZAL PFK Baku missed the qualification for the championship games and had accordingly together with the clubs on the last five table ranks ( FK Ravan Baku , PFK Kəpəz , PFK Simurq Zaqatala , Sumqayıt PFK and PFK Turan Tovuz ) against relegation in the second half of the season play the second highest division, the Birinci Divizionu .

Second round

Championship round

Neftçi Baku PFK was able to maintain its lead over the table runner-up FK Xəzər Lənkəran in the course of the championship games and thus decided the Azerbaijani championship for themselves. The championship also means participation in the qualifying matches for the UEFA Champions League . In addition to runner-up FK Xəzər Lənkəran , İnter Baku and cup winners FK Baku also reached the qualifying games for the UEFA Europa League .
