The Peşəkar Futbol Klubu Simurq Zaqatala was an Azerbaijani football club from Zaqatala . The club last played in the top division of Azerbaijan, the Premyer Liqası . The club colors were black and white. The name "Simurq" (see Simurgh ) referred to the Persian equivalent of the phoenix .
General
The association was founded in 2005. The home of the club was the Zaqatala City Stadium (German: Stadium of the City of Zaqatala). The logo consisted of a circle with an eagle in the middle holding a soccer ball in its claws. Above, below and on the sides were the club name and the year the club was founded. In 2015, Zaqatala retired due to financial problems after the end of the season on June 21, 2015 and broke up shortly thereafter.
