Primera División 2010/11

The Primera División 2011/12 (officially Liga BBVA ) was the 81st season of the highest Spanish football league . The season was supposed to start on August 20, 2011, but the start was postponed to August 27 due to a players' strike. The players' union AFE demanded better protection for the salaries of football players, since the Spanish football clubs had not paid out 50 million euros in the previous season. A total of 200 players were affected. The season ended as planned on May 13, 2012.

Real Madrid became Spanish champions for the 32nd time with a new point (100) and goal record (121).
