Zamora trophy
The Zamora trophy ( Spanish "Trofeo Zamora" ) has been presented to the goalkeeper with the fewest goals conceded in the Spanish league since the 1958/59 season . It is called "Zamora" in honor of the former Spanish goalkeeper Ricardo Zamora . The trophy is awarded annually by the sports newspaper Marca . Since the 1986/87 season, a corresponding award of the same name has also been awarded to goalkeepers in the Spanish second division . Whoever wins five Trofeo Zamora receives a "Golden Zamora", which so far has only been awarded to the record title holders Antoni Ramallets and Víctor Valdés .
The corresponding trophy for goal scorers is called the Pichichi trophy .
Allocation modalities
The prize is currently awarded to the goalkeeper who has played at least 28 championship games over a period of at least 60 minutes and, on average, had to accept the fewest goals. It is not necessarily the goalkeeper with the absolutely fewest goals conceded that is awarded, but the one with the fewest average in a significant number of games. The conceded goal quotient is calculated with two decimal places. In the event that two goalkeepers have achieved the same quotient, the one who has completed more championship games receives the prize; if they are tied here too, both will receive the award (as happened in the 1992/93 season).
Of all the titleholders, Francisco Liaño from Deportivo La Coruña has the best average from the goalkeeper's point of view with 18 goals conceded in 38 games in the 1993/94 season, i.e. a rate of 0.47 goals per game.

Note: These goalkeepers (until 1958) were each determined by subsequent calculation; So they are fictional title holders. Ricardo Zamora also never won the award named after him, even if he had earned it several times.
